Florida is looking to trade its mid first round pick next season for a proven hitter who won't die in the next few seasons.
Anyone rebuilding or not going to make the playoffs this season who doesn't need such a hitter? Position isn't especially important.
thought i was in line to get to 60 wins when the calendar was still in July. On a 8-33 stretch for sure to be in trouble with wins in the future.

No chance for an 11-5 finish?
picked up a few wins and am at 56, so that minimum win hit might not be so terrible.... yeah it will, i'll be bad for a bunch of seasons

When I traded for Paige, I was hoping for three to five good seasons out of him, and he's really delivered... kept the team afloat. He's 38 now, so I don't know how many more he has in him... maybe a couple.
I was going to post last week, but then knowing the forum jinx, decided not to. Detroit started out pretty good, but then started to swoon. That's been our MO lately where we start out really good, and then go .500 the second half of the season. But this time after a short sputter in mid to late May, we really turned it on near the end of June. I have no idea what my best streak is in my franchise, but I would have to guess that this was possibly our best winning 18 games in a row. We started the stretch after a four game losing streak in late June; and by the time we hit our next losing streak of more than two games nearly two months later, we had gone an impressive 42-9.
Of course we sputtered to a 22-17 record to finish the season, so we'll probably go out with a whimper against Pittsburgh.

I got my revenge on Brooklyn for a couple years ago. Its good to have this team back in the LCS after underachieving the past few years.
