I find it interesting with the new dev rates of the game how my draft/recruiting strategy has changed and seems to differ from most ppl. For example I had Foster high from this group, but Vargas and Bitter low hours in Rd 1. Cranston didn't even make my Rd 1 list.

I’m the complete opposite. I spent high hours on Bitter, Vargas, and Cranston, and didn’t bid on Foster at all. Not because he isn’t going to be great, but because I prioritized other needs and simply passed on him.

Bitter has only one year of eligibility, so it would make sense why teams would not commit a lot of hours on him if any.

I had Cranston rated as #1 overall but he was out of region and I figured he'd be recruited a lot heavier than he was. Foster was the #1 guy I had in region but seems like everyone saw that so hindsight makes me wish I had flipped them.

Bitter I had ranked low because you're only getting one year out of him but talent wise he looks pretty good and will probably be a top star next season.

    Re: 2004 Signing Day - Tuesday September 13th 2022

Welcome to 2004 signing day where the top recruits will be making their decisions on where to play college baseball for the rest of their careers. We've got a full slate of top recruits who will make their decisions today and we are about to go live to Keith Vargas' press conference to kick off our coverage for the day.

Vargas is a standout in his final year of High School, striking out 212 in 110 innings this season and is widely considered to have the highest velocity fastball of all players in the recruiting pool. Vargas has a pretty wide geographic range in his Top 3 with Miami, Oklahoma, and California all occupying different regions and conferences. Vargas is heading to the podium now so let's kick off 2004 signing day (Fancy TV graphic)

"Thank you everyone for coming today, it's an honor to be able to announce my decision on which college I will be attending next season. I thought about this a lot and the coach that really impressed me and the place I want to be is Oklahoma, go Sooners! I'm excited to join the team for the 2005 season!"

A lot of these high schoolers are sleeping in, it's early August so we had a little bit of a lull but we're ready with one of the top pitching prospects in Martin Foster. Scouts love his elite control and his ability to rack up innings, he threw a CG in all 34 of his starts in his JR and SR year in High School and only walked 5 batters. He's at the podium.

"I'm humbled by all the attention I've gotten from some great colleges. Unfortunately, I can only choose one school but I'm very excited to announce that today. While I thought I wanted to stick around my home I think the chance to join the UCLA Bruins is too good to pass up and I'm excited to join them for the 2005 season.
