I usually don't put much stock into these.... Wins and Losses is what really counts. But I had a player who is average at best and play him at DH. He had a career year, and his numbers were better (slight biased I am sure) than some other guys who won All-Star and Silver Slugger. I feel he got cheated and needed to vent a little I guess. Anyway. That's over. Can anyone explain how awards are calculated? Without getting to bogged down in formulas?

I can't tell you anything about the formulas, but for those 3 players it looks like OPS was probably the prime factor. Jenkins' on base percentage was 100 points lower than the other 2 guys, which dropped him below in OPS.
