Computer-controlled teams will be more aggressive in calling up players from low minors.

What does this mean? Will unowned teams start to call players up during the season now? Will unowned teams edit their own lineups throughout the year?

I took it as at the offseason they will move players up from minors that really should be on Active roster and cut players that are making less than a certain amount or are a certain age on Active roster to make room for them.

Not sure if they have a way to start these players in the lineups???

I didn't think that the unowned teams would do this during the season. Just my thoughts, but I could be wrong marsupial311

In the last new season in TML, the computer controlled teams had called up unready teenagers that really needed more development. Not sure if the new feature did that or the previous owner, but I saw it on 2/3 unowned teams.

I don't know the overall rules on the top of my head, but the change made will make teams more aggressive in calling up quality players from low minors if they are somewhat better than than someone who's on the active roster. Sure, a 19 year old prospect could get called up, but he'd have to be good enough to play compared to the team's other roster options.

Prior to this change the computer GM only called players up from low if there weren't 25 players in active+AAA. That caused a lot of talent to languish in low minors on these teams.

I dont think it would be a bad idea to hold prospects down til 22 or 23. Otherwise unowned teams are going to make some very questionable calls ups that will hurt their franchise long term.

I think it's important to keep unowned adequately managed for when a new user takes over. The obvious example is when unowned teams aren't taken care of they can become so awful that most users wouldn't be interested in them.
