Yeah, sometimes the vocals would filter people, but anyone who got past that would discover some incredible guitarwork and drumming. Nice, I had both those on CD very young, and Core is still one I come back to frequently.

I do like some Jamey Johnson. And a couple others that I grew up on in the mid 90s. But country has been something that has fell out my rotation.

Thought I'd would be cool to have a league playlist.

    https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2A...urce=copy-link

I started it off by adding 5 songs.

Feel free to add whatever you like.

    Re: Music thread

I added 5 songs from my top artists. Maybe not the best by the artist, but i tried to stick closer to genres this group seems to like

    Re: Music thread

Just a thought going forward, might be a good idea to have two playlists: a moshpit playlist and an 'everything else' playlist for this group. I can probably post heavier stuff than anyone here (yes, that is a challenge), but I don't want to overwhelm people in the group who might get turned off by metal and -core spam and the types of vocals those genres are infamous for either.

I'm listening to what both of you posted right now btw, though I've heard much of what Luke posted in our other playlist before.

    Re: Music thread

I hear STP and I wince. I am not a Weiland fan whatsoever. Its why I couldnt get into Velvet Revolver either even with Slash shredding. Smashing Pumpkins same issue, singer blah to me. The Tragically Hip is a huge Canadian band, saw them live before the singer died (for free thankfully), and just not a fan of the singer as well. Maybe its cause they all get overplayed on the radio i dunno (also why i cant listen to the radio), but i'll overplay songs i actually like thanks. But give me some 80s hair metal any day over all them. Never really got into music heavily until Napster in 2000, and more hardcore into music in my early 20s, another 10 years later. But basically skipped over most mid-late 90s grunge stuff, some good of the 80s bled into the early 90s however. Mostly because the 90s-00s I only listened to hip hop, and Im not ashamed to admit, i even listened to some boy band stuff when I was a kid, and actually liked it. Ive listened to nirvana (who hasnt) but i wouldnt put any of their songs on my playlist, alice in chains was much better when they had staley imo. Vedder is a good singer, i just didnt like any pearl jam songs. Cornell put out some jams though.

I see music like this, every band is gonna put out songs you arent gonna like, and nobody is going to have the exact same taste in music. You like what you like and hopefully you can find other like minded people, but dont let others influence your taste negatively. Just like balmers with his country, so what bro? You go line dancing and you do you. A little Cadillac Ranch for ya *** maybe? I live smack dab in the middle of country music country, full on cowboys and ****, im the anomaly here, youd fit right in lol. There are songs in pretty much every genre where i'll find something i can listen to and not die a little inside (even country). But the generic country song? Haaaard pass. Most alternative stuff, just sliiiide to the left. Too depressing for this guy. But to each their own.

There is one band though that pretty much everyone I've talked to loves or raves about them. I've tried and tried but I just don't like them, and I've seen them live too. They just dont have anything that hooks me in to want to listen more. Tell me what I'm missing. The band: Lamb of God.
