    2087 season discussion

All but one team are under the new hard cap (Harlingen Capitals). I sent them a PM and a fake trade to get their attention. Hopefully they take action prior to 4/1 so I don’t have to.

Reminder we will be dropping to a hard cap of 60M in the coming offseason, so teams who are over plan accordingly.

good luck to everyone this season

    Re: 2087 season discussion

This season, as was last season, was supposed to be retooling for Williamsburg. The team finally has an aging roster etc. Last season, about two thirds into the season, Williamsburg was last and aiming for #1 pick. Of course then the team went on a 12-5 run to end the season picking #7.

Now this year, having played only within the division, sees Williamsburg starting the season 11-3. As I said, the roster is made by just keeping people around, not trying to find better FAs and keeping rookies in minors until they are maxed out (not when you need them). And anyways, the entire division is now retooling or what? Can someone please make Williamsburg shift down?

    Re: 2087 season discussion

13-5 now in what I believed was going to be a losing effort to give me some picks. One of my pitchers, the workhorse, always has a career ERA of 4.50, usually going 13-17 for the season etc. He now sits on a 1.49 ERA and is enjoying himself alot. I need to make a decision soon whether to be interested in free agents or go sleeping until the draft (evidently, I couldn't resist dropping a scrub for some free agent who might pitch replacement level).

I don't want to really tank and drop the few aging hitters I have for nada. I'm not a supertanker, anyway: in all of my many seasons I never had a #1 pick, I believe, and only 5 or 6 top three picks). Which you could help me with: you can have almost any player on this team for 2nd rounders, and just 2 or 3 will cost 1st rounders.

But I know what will happen: someone will offer me 1st rounders for one or two players, I will sit there at a .600 record and big-headedly decline, only to see the team then show it's true face and drop out of contention and getting me next years #12 in the end.

Where is the forum jinx when you need it?

Also, communication in this league is outstanding. People have heard my complaints and currently, Williamsburg is on a 3-game losing streak.

The Moose just finished up a pretty solid April, going 23-3 in the month. Need Benny to inform us if that is a record or not
