The Phillies are off to a 22-8 start, which is the very very good news. On the other hand, we just lost two rather important players for the season, which is the bad news. Overall, I am happy with the way the season is going, but another bad round of injuries could badly damage this team.

The AL is anybody's division except probably Chicago. Detroit probably has one last shot before getting too old, but that being said we just can't overbuy and sell out the future for a 4th year in a row. We're just hoping this team stays glued together for one last run.

If things go south over the next month or so, look for some stud offensive players to hit the trade market.

Mixed. I was 50-50 on going for a major rebuild in the off-season as I think Oakland got about as far as this core will go, but it likely means a drop off before (hopefully) a come back. Instead I’ve probably kicked the can down the road for a season, going to hope for the best with the couple of additions for this season and see how it goes. If we fall out of contention before the trade deadline then it’s figure out what to do next.

After getting by off the bullpen last season, so far this season 60% of our wins have come from SP4 and SP5. With Winsor aging there’s a glaring hole at SP1.

On the positive side we’re still in touch in the AL and the offence is ticking over nicely with returns to form for virtually all our power hitters

LSU starts decent. The defense still not work very well.
Otherwise the team is just 3.5 games behind the playoffs but with 20-24 it doesn´t feel like i have a chance.

Big thank you to Texas for stopping Oklahoma State, while my LSU is loosing all games against North Carolina.
The final three games are now a direct duell beetween Oklahoma and LSU.
LSU lost first place but it is fun to see what diffrence one single player can have. Before i field 2B Wayne brookins my team was not near the playoff ranks. With him the team improved defensivly and climbed.
Now we need one win to keep Oklahoma behind and to force North Carolina to win all last games to tie 2nd.

Otherwise its an awesome seasonfinish in NCAA west with the TRojans are just 1.5 games behind 2nd placed Stanford.

If Standford and Oakland defend their 2nd place it seems that all Teams from the Bay reach the playoffs.

    Re: 1986 Season Discussion

Brian McMillen joins the Club of the Choosen #1.
He is the most successful player in the list with 3xMVP, 3xAll Star and 3x Silver Slugger. Even he is the first player who played 4 seasons it is a tough to beat Award list for future players.
If he wins the championship he follows the Tradition of Cooper and Mayorga to leave NCAA as first pick with a Title in his last year. His team needs to beat Miami who beat LSU completly deserved with 4-2.

He is also the first player from NCAA West that was choosed as First Pick.
I also add Inaugural First Pick SS Eddie Walker to the Club.

While my team is out i wish best luck to the 4 playoffteams who are still in the competition.
