Thread: 2137 Season Thread

playoff no-hitter for Bass! Still down 2-1, but this is a familiar spot for us. In the past 4 seasons, this is our 9th playoff series, and the 8th time we've been down at least 2-1 after game 3. We've gone 5-2 so far in that situation, which is far better than you'd expect after being down. This is probably the toughest hole we've been in (other than maybe last year when Frisco just swept us) and most of those other series were against weaker teams. But I'm holding onto hope!

Cote pitched poorly twice against Frisco, but he's been excellent in his two starts against Cuenca. Considine gets another shot against the team that traded him away, Bass is set for game 6, and Cote will be ready again for a potential game 7. We're seeing the downside of Moore - he's obviously insanely good when he pitches, but he threw 10 IP in game 1 and is at 75% for game 5. Pretty minor nitpick as things go, but that EN is going to be the reason he's only the best pitcher of his generation, not one of the best pitchers of all generations.

where's tander? what's the mood like in gatlinburg? For as much regular season success as that franchise has had (and I should know), it's only made the WS 7 times. What's it like to be on the verge of #8?

sorry about cluttering up the forum with the house cleaning / admin / voc stuff. don't want to take away from the more important things like... playoffs! (read in jim mora voice please).

gatlinburg with a couple nice wins last two games to go up 3-1 on dprk. very similar basic box scores (same # hits by both teams both games, same runs scored, in both games).

Losing 2-1 (twice) is actually slightly better than getting the snot knocked out of me, and it's much more interesting in GameView.

Considine v Moore was a mismatch, but some clutch hitting and fielding means we hang on for the win. Even with all of Cuenca's GIDP skills, you just can't walk that many players and get away with it forever. Hopefully an away team actually wins one of the final two games and we advance.

I had to go back and check and see your walk rate, as the 9-0 walk differential was surprising to say the least. You did walk quite a bit this year. I walked more though. As such, I did not expect 9 walks from Moore, and I did not expect zero walks from my offense. Not great, Bob!

I’m following along and enjoying the ride! Keeping my fingers crossed for some good fortune against a tough opponent either way in the WS. Of course it’s all happening while we are traveling for the first time post-pandemic and my CSFBL time has been limited. Visiting family and bouncing between baby showers (we are expecting our first in July). Been lots of fun, but bad CSFBL timing.

DPRK could not keep up with the talent on the Gatlinburg roster. We tried, but we didn't have enough. A thorough victory for the bad guys.

Rough couple sims. Home field advantage ended up doing a lot in this series. Good luck moden, we tried but the better team won.
