Minneapolis Muggers returned to the playoffs after a 1 season absence and were up against the wildcard New New York Mongooses, who were the defending divisional champ. The Mongooses defended their title in 5 to set up a meeting with the New York Spankees for the Conference title.
The Spankees won the regular season title for the 3rd straight season. After a pair of losses in the divisional round the previous two seasons, they dethroned defending WS champ Minnesota Zombie Monkeys in 7 games to take the DCS.
In the Long Ball Conference, Allan Lee's Confederates won a league-high 100 games to take the regular season title, but fell in 5 games to the defending divisional champ Dane County Drinkers. The Drinkers set up a conference series with the Quebec Frontenacs, who returned to the playoffs after a 1 season absence.
The Frontenacs won the divisional title in 5 against the Long Island Cougars.
