Re: Protest - lets not go political

In canton there have been planned riots. Local mall about 20 minutes away was looted today. We got notified that there was a planned riot for a walmart nearby and to be vigilant. Swat was at the walmart preemptively and nothing ended up happening.

Had an old coworker from 7 years ago at the Cleveland protests a few days ago. He was there to peacefully march and document the protest. He was shot in the eye by the police with a rubber bullet and lost his left eye. Also has permanent facial damage.

Protesters in Philly on the Vine Street Expressway [one of the city's most important east-west arteries] were teargassed this afternoon. Police say some protesters were throwing rocks, but I'm skeptical. At least some officers diffused tensions by later kneeling with the crowd, though.

Another group caused some damage in City Hall as they attempted to topple a statue of Frank Rizzo who was known as tough on crime and employed many racist police practices during his time as mayor from 1972 to 1980.

Okay, now I'm leaning more towards lip service. CPD took a very different tone around 6pm, full riot gear was back on, going after journalists who showed press badges, tear gas, mace, and physically pushing protesters. They had their photo shoot, then went back to business.

Being in a suburb of Minneapolis I've been following all of it closely, both in the news and on Reddit. There definitely are outside groups that are purposeful in causing chaos and damage and have no interest in 'promoting change'.

There are anarchists who want the government to fail. There are alt-right that want a race war to start. Both are flooding these cities and inciting the violence imo.

Join the Remake Leagues! No Experience Necessary.

    Simple Rules:

    1. Stop recruiting new owners for your half dead crappy leagues. Your efforts would be better used looking for a stable league with owners who actually care about their teams. Winning the world series in a half unowned league is not worthy of your time.

    2. If you are trading an elite item like a no1 overall pick or a superstud player, then dont take the first offer you get. Advertise your availability to the league to maximize your return. Your trade partner is not going to protect you from underselling yourself.

    3. Quoted from a thread about Monopoly gameplay: "This strategy will end up killing you in the long run. You WANT to make deals. You WANT to be easy to do business with. If players get the impression that you're always going to ask for unreasonable demands, they'll trade with other players, leaving you out of those trades, meaning you get nothing of value while they benefit. Remember, your goal in a trade should not be to screw your trading partner, but to screw anyone who isn't your trading partner. Then people will catch on and realize that if they're not going to give you fair rates, they're going to be left out in the cold, which means that you shouldn't be dealing with people who play that way either."

In Northern Indiana over the weekend they started telling shoppers to go home rather than being in malls as trouble was anticipated.
