    Jakku Jaguars Hire New GM

The time has come for some new thinking in Jakku. The Jaguars have not made the playoffs since 2091. That is 19 seasons
ago. The best in that span has been 3rd place in the division. In 6 of the last 7 years the Jags have finished last.

So, a new way of thinking has been brought in to Jakku. The past GM was hip on, on-base and average. They missed
some pop from their lineup. Last year ONLY THREE players hit double digits in Home Runs. LF-Victor Paul lead the
    team with 22 long balls.

The starting pitching is good but we needed an...ACE. Relief pitching was also OK.

First thing first, go find an ace to anchor the Jags staff.

On March 4, 2110. Jakku found a trading partner in Zorg. They had an ace that the Jags liked in SP-Greg Tyson.
With a high draft pick (#2) in 2110 plus their second round (#26) pick and 3B-Dustin Larry we were able to
    complete the trade.

Then, taking a look at the roster some decisions had to be made. Now with a solid ace in Greg Tyson plus with Melvin
Fleming at #2 and Johnny Hammer at #3, we are pretty solid now in the rotation. We had to take a look at the
rest of the roster. We had some good gloves but most were on the bench with other players that hit better, was in the
lineup. So, first we moved 3B-Donald Bennett from the bench to the starting lineup. His 99-GL is outstanding
and he will hit toward the bottom of the lineup. 2B-Matthew Fisher is going to be moved to SS because of his
99-GL. His arm is not the best but he catches the ball. 3B-Pablo Johnson has the weakest GL at 77 so we moved
him to 2B. Behind the plate, we had Charles Conner. Good hitting backstop but players stole on him at a 77%
ratio. Something had to be done to help out the pitchers. So young backup Catcher Keith Hahn with a 79-AR
has been moved to the backstop. Hopefully this helps in keeping other teams steals down.

Taking a look over the lineup we decided to go with pitching, defense and some much needed power. 31-year old
RF-Robert Lindsey was a Free Agent with the best power. So we shot him a number and we got him signed as our
DH with 82-SL. Then we had an offer from Valles as they had slugging 1B-Bo Kilburn with 99-SL. In order to land
the slugger we had to give up our young 1B-Emmett Gilreath. We did not want to move Gilreath who was 27-years
old for the 34-year old Bo Kilburn, but we desperately needed some power on this team. So, we made the move.
Of course we will be looking for a younger 1B for the future, but for the meantime Kilburn will fill in nicely.

So now, we have a really good staff, much needed power, defense and a pretty young team. The question remains,
did we do enough to get this team out of the cellar?

C-Charles Conner (a starter the last 4 years) finds himself on the bench after these changes. At 28-years old he
still has a lot to give. So finding room for him to play will be difficult.

We can not wait for the start of the Galactic Baseball League to see how this season goes. Was enough done to help
out this team? At 63.5 million payroll there is not a lot of wiggle room under the cap, but there is enough to make some
moves if need be. Let's see what happens.

    Let's PLAY BALL!!!!!!

Our Opening Game is in the books. How did the re-vamped team do? WE WON 2-0.
Here is how Greg Tyson, our ace pitcher did, 8-Inn. 5-H. 0-R. 2-W. 12-SO Get's the win!
Bobby Alston get's the save. Our two runs against the First Order Storm Troopers was
a two run HR in the bottom of the 7th by new comer 1B-Bo Kilburn.

So our start is successful. Only 159 left to go.

Re: Jakku Jaguars Hire New GM

First time through the rotation order I was hoping for better results. After our Ace SP-Greg
Tyson threw a wonderful game, our next two in the rotation are pretty good pitchers but
they did not have a good showing first time out in the 2110 season.

In our first 5 games, we scored a total of 3 runs in four games and one game with 13 runs.
So starting the season we look rusty. Our HR hitter we went after is doing just that, Bo Kilburn
has 3 long balls and 9 RBI's in 5 games. The free agent we went after, Robert Lindsey has
    1-HR and 5-RBI's.

So the power is there and in 5 games we have NO errors. The defense is there. Our #1
pitcher is there, I just need the rest of the team to get going.

We did split the 4-games series with First Order Storm Troopers. Now it is on to
Terminus Psychohistorians where we are 0-1 with 3 games to go.

Did we do enough to turn this team around? Can't wait to find out.

Great to see you taking the interest.

Your division has been dominated by 2 of the leagues most intelligent managers since I joined. They have consistently found players that fit their game plan year after year, and succeeded. If you take a look at Vulcan's stats year over year for example, you can see that they really play to their large field dimensions. They focus on pitching, defense and OBP exclusively. If you go into their park with low average high power guys, odds are the pitching and defense will eat you up. If you also look at their batter's discipline ratings, you see that you need your best control pitchers going against them, or they will walk you to death. They averaged 6 walks a game last year.

Love the trade you made with Zorg. Keep working at it, and putting in the research. You will get them!

Well...….after 15 games we are not doing too well. 5-10. BUT, we had the next to last record
in the league so we are trying to build.

Just got through making some changes. Our new Catcher has been wonderful behind the dish.
We were hoping to keep the baserunning down. 5 steals and one caught. Plus, Keith Hahn is
hitting .093 to start the season. So we have brought in our starting catcher from last year
Charles Conner. We need some offense.

Our #1 pick from the draft last season, CF-Deon Zahn hit .369 in 65-games after being drafted.
This year he is off to a .175 start. We moved him down the order from #2 to #8 until he starts
    hitting again.

6 of our 9 starters are hitting under .250. We have got to start hitting the ball.

Pitching has also not been where we were hoping. Our Ace Greg Tyson has an ERA of 4.50.
#2 Melvin Flaming has a 5.57 ERA. Career is 4.28. Plus he is 0-3. #3 Johnny Hammer
just threw a good game, 8-inning shutout to get his first win. Thomas Mills #4 career he is
4.97 this season so far he is 6.98. Our pitching has been underachieving.

So far, the defense has been good. In 15 games we only have one error and that was from
    a pitcher.

These guys have got to start hitting and pitching.

Re: Jakku Jaguars Hire New GM

After going 11-20 things started to look bleak. Not hitting, not pitching, at least the defense
was doing pretty good. Then came our 5-game win streak and we thought maybe we were
    turning a corner.

If you remember, we finished next to last out of 32 teams last year, so we were hoping to finish
in the middle of the pack this year. After a 5-game win streak we started to get excited. Then
came reality. We dropped 5 of the next 6. Currently we stand 17-25.

On the good side, 1B-Bo Kilburn is still leading the HR race with 19. Last year's rookie CF-Deon
Zahn who started the season hitting .175 was dropped to the bottom of the order. But, he has
caught fire (think God someone has) and is now back to his lead-off spot hitting .323. Our
RF-Michael Ochoa who hit .309 last year has played good so far this season and is rocking a
.348 average good for 9th place so far this season. No one else is hitting over .289.

Pitching, Greg Tyson has been pretty good and had a chance to win just about every game. Our ACE
is 4-3 with a 3.66 ERA. We of course were counting on number 2 and 3 in the rotation Melvin
Flemming and Johnny Hammer. But so far they have ERA's of 6.96 and 5.76. I hope they get
better as the season goes along. Our surprise in the rotation has been #4-Thomas Mills who is
5-1 and a 4.99 ERA. The #5 spot has had two pitchers exchange the spot but so we have not settled
    on one player yet.

We of course moved C-Charles Conner to the starting catching position after just a few games.
Our starter Keith Hahn got off to a .122 average so we made the switch since no one on the team
was really hitting at the time. When Conner was put in, it was like everyone said, "Let's Go" and
the team began to hit. Charles Conner is hitting .287 which is over his 4-year average of .278.

We know that there are valley's and peak's through out the season, but we are also hoping we have
done enough to begin to turn this team from losing to a winner. Only time will tell. the draft is coming
up but or course we traded our #2 round one pick for Greg Tyson.

We continue to scour the free agents and look at making trades.

We sure hoping that you guys are enjoying the league.

    Thank you, BarryD
