    Re: 2003 News and Highlights

The Pilots had some extra draft picks this season. Unfortunately the draft wasn't very good.

P Victor White (#15) looks mediocre but his distribution is good. May be a #5 starter or a swing starter out of the BP.

3B James Small (#19) is probably a better player than my first pick. Elite DI and good D in the field. Will definitely be a starter.

CF Reginald Crain (#40) has elite RA so he is usuable. Will get some starts. Unlikely to be a full time starter though.

CF Robert Adams (#43) isn't very exciting. Has a little offense and has a little defense. That is about all I can say about the guy.

C Charles Hathc0ck (#67) will unlikely ever start more than a handful of games.

Like I said, not a very good draft. What players I did like were long gone by the time I picked.

Congrats! And as the old lady who lived next to me when I bought my first house said, "You don't own the house. The house owns you." HaHa. Many good times ahead. Enjoy!

Well, you certainly didn't break the bank with those salaries. HaHa.

I think we did fine in the draft.

Chad Resendez (#53) - Borderline startable 3B with 80's BA and 80's RA.

Anthony Blanchard (#29) - Elite slugger at #29? Sure, sign me up. Peripherals will be bad, but he'll drive in runs. Would be a shoe-in starter if I didn't already have 2 stud C prospects.

Jackie Oakes (#5) - I'll agree this guy isn't great for block one (draft was deep, but lacked a top end), BUT, I needed a better prospect for CF and this guy's perfect. He'll be a 100 RA CF with elite SL and great CN, and enough DI and BA to not suck. He fills a hole VERY nicely.

Solid draft for the Phillies. Pitching was what we needed and Julio George came in at 95 CO, 99 SY with Wilkins landing on 99 FI to boot. Burke at 41 looks eh, probably destined to be a short side 1B platoon guy.

    #9 - https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4864803 - future stud leadoff hitter

#12 - https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4864775 - Elite RA/GL in CF, apparently my team will be built on RA because that has been the best guy available in the last few drafts for me

Forgot to set my 2nd rounders like an idiot.

I am surprised that my best pitcher this season is Kelly Allen. So far, he is 17-3 with a 2.10 ERA. He's never pitched anywhere near what he is doing this season.
