    2089 Season

Knoxville going with the all offense lineup. Should push 900 RS and may need to with declining pitching.

    Re: 2089 Season

Now under new ownership, the Calgary Cannons relocated to Norwich this season to become the Sea Unicorns. The roster has undertaken a complete overhaul since last season, with 5 new players penciled into the starting lineup. Having one of the lowest payrolls in the league has given Norwich a little bit of money to play around with to find the best fit - thus far starting 10-12 despite scoring in the bottom 1/4 of the league in runs. Despite being competitive for the first 20 games, this is clearly a team looking to rebuild.

The Chippawassapacans are looking to go all the way this year. Balanced lineup, solid D and a 3 headed monster at P. Myrtle Beach is hanging in there at 7.5 G back, but will anyone slow Champaign down?

    Re: 2089 Season

I was feeling really good about Dublin’s playoff push until we hit a wall and got swept by Myrtle Beach in a 3 game series. The Black Sheep went 7-3 in our last 10 games including a 3-1 series against Knoxville who is currently in the lead in our division and then Myrtle Beach shut us down hard. And now we are in a series against Reading who is having a good second half as well.

If we can get through this series without loosing too much face the schedule lightens up a bit. We still have a good chance of making the playoffs as an underdog to make our trade with Norwich worth it. Exciting stuff.

3 game series vs Reading and all 3 went to extra innings. With Reading taking 2 out of 3, Santa Fe is now 3 games back with 7 to play. Wait 'til next year!

    Re: 2089 Season

It's been seven years since I took over the Chinook franchise, and this team is still not making any progress (at least in the win column). However, several key members of the offense were way off of career numbers (and somehow way off of where their ratings suggest they should be). But even with a 6th place finish we were still 3rd in run diff, not only in the division but in the conference at +62. Hopefully the build takes a huge leap forward next season.

    Re: 2089 Season

Lost the first two games in Knoxville, then won the first two at home in Dagobah. Then my bats disappeared against Knoxville’s Ace in game 5.

Anxiously awaiting the sim in 25 minutes to see if we are going to game 7 or packing our bags and going home to the swamp to plan for 2090...

Congrats to Mojave and Bluto on a well earned title!

With this loss Knoxville falls to 1-8 in the XB World Series during my 40 years of ownership. That’s gotta be among the worst WS records for any owner in any league. Even assuming I was a 60/40 underdog in each (certainly not true), the odds of going 1-8 would be 0.67%. Yes that’s less than 1%.

Thanks! Team went from down 3 games to 1 in the first round to the franchise's first championship in 87 seasons. Crazy run.

And I hear you on the snake bitten team. Have a team in another league that is 1-6 in the WS as we are finishing up the regular season in year 30. Just something about that one team
    that just doesn't work out.
