That's for sure, but you can't just assume a team that doesn't have a good record is tanking. Sometimes players just get old and there is nobody to replace them. Perhaps you traded a draft or two away to win a WS and when the WS winning team gets old and ineffective, you don't have much of a farm to replace them. Why should a team that has no chance lose an early pick to a team with 90 wins who misses the playoffs in a tough division? Makes no sense to me. I want the teams to be able to rebuild whether I'm a good or bad team. It makes for a better league. Weighted lottery is ok, I'd never be in favor of a straight lottery.

Why have incentive for losing ? All teams rebuild and suck , at some point. Trade away vets. Why do you think your team deserves a better pick then a manager that’s grinding out 75 wins with older players also ? Give me any crappy team ,I can win 70 games or I can win 50. I’m gonna win 50-60 for the high pick. Every team in the bottom 10-14 teams in every league is in the same boat. The 1-16 equal odds lottery totally eliminates tanking.

I guess not everyone is as good as you are.

I have been in leagues where there is equality of different sorts in the draft... I think it might have been ALTRA that was the one that had the draft wheel where everyone got each of the picks over a 24 season rotation... records were ignored. I remember how frustrating it was for me to pick up a lousy team there and have to wait three seasons for a good pick... and then another couple for another... the team sat in the bottom of the division forever... or until I just gave up... it was great fun. Took me a while before I realized that the league was stacked against newer managers picking up depleted teams... but I learned my lesson and eventually dropped it.

    I like the weighted lottery.

I'm against lowering the salary cap, the $70 million cap is what I liked.

I'm good with some sort of punishment system for really poor play.

I'm in favor of a deeper lottery that gives any non-playoff teams a shot at good picks. Right now there is no reward, as it's been said, for trying to win when you know you are not going to the playoffs. Let's give those middling teams still grinding it out a shot at being rewarded.

Yeah. This is the thought I’m trying to get across.

I'm totally in favor of deeper drafts. Is that something that the league can control?

A lot of drafts have been very top heavy recently . Lucky to get decent player after top 10. Haha.

    Re: Potential Rule Change Idea

I think for the time being I'd like to see how the min wins rules work or if teams continue to field crummy teams consistently. I'm not sure I'm open to having all 16 non-playoff teams with equal shots in the lottery, but I could be swayed to go from 8 to 12 maybe?

If we decide to implement some/all these rules everyone would start with a clean slate obviously. What if we keep 3 strikes is loss of 1st rd pick, but add that missing the 60 win minimum or the 3/190 bumps you automatically from whatever tiebreaker slot in the lotto to spot 24? (or if multiple teams the last ## of spots in lotto)
