    Season Discussion

Who is going to win it all?

A lot of teams are gunning for it this season but some won't even make the playoffs. Corpus Christi is currently holding the best record in the league at 51-22. In the same division The Flying Squirrels (my team) and Jacksonville are not far behind at 47 and 46 wins trailed by Mobile Bay (41) and Chattanooga (41).

Binghampton, Springfield, and Harrisburg are also the top 3 teams in the other conference and all are in the same division.

The AL West and NL West are certainly very competitive, scoring 460 more runs than the AL and NL East. Pretty much all of the divisions will have a tight race to the playoffs, and once the playoffs start, anything can happen.

Yeah - my Bears have won 12 straight, and we're still mired in 4th place. Wish I was in the NL East, we'd be in 1st!

Jacksonville has the third most wins in the entire league but would not be in the playoffs if they started right now

    Re: Season Discussion

Senators have the 6th most wins and would also miss. Couple stacked divisions.

    Re: Season Discussion

In an effort to find any semblance of an effective pitching staff this season, the Tennessee Smokies have now used 21 pitchers this season. Although they have had reasonable results from the front four in the rotation, posting 46 quality starts, a lack of depth in the 5th spot and the bullpen has ballooned the team ERA as Tennessee has allowed the 4th most runs allowed. Despite having a team ERA of 5.08, the bullpen has racked up a gaudy 5.85 ERA in just over 300 innings pitched. Despite the lack of success, the team has found something to build upon with mid-season call-ups of Manuel Strickland (.973 OPS, 20HR in 66 games) and Victor Magnus (.784 OPS in 66 games) to help boost the lineup to 9th in runs scored. As the season winds down, and the draft complete, Tennessee will be looking to find some consistency throughout the pitching staff as they sit 22 games back as the calendar flips to August.

    Re: Season Discussion

In last year’s draft, the Curve drafted 20 yr old P Justin Thacker with the 8th overall pick. Due to the fact that his FI-SY conning was basically maxed out entering this preseason I decided to make him closer just so I would have something to look forward to for this season. His stat line so far for this season: 5–2, 25 SV, 1.74 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and all this for a non competitive team with a pathetic offense and defense. That puts him first in American FOTY voting and second in America ROTY voting, only behind Tennessee’s CF Manuel Strickland. I’m still stunned by his results.

    Re: Season Discussion

Coming into the final two weeks of the season, it's clear the Smokies have the offseason on their minds. After sustaining a 12 game losing streak, Tennessee appears to be embracing this lost season, and looking forward to making their winter plans. RoY candidate Manuel Strickland has faltered down the stretch, seeing his OPS drop a full .150 in the last month, but looks to be a great building block for the team going forward. Pitching is clearly a need going forward, as Tennessee's staff continues to go through arms like a couch potato looking for something to watch on Netflix.

Is anyone having issues looking at the schedule tab or is it just me? I can't access it as well as the scoreboard tab and it's been going on for the past couple days? Anyone know how to fix this?
