    2005 Season Discussion

The Koalas start off at 7-1 heading into a 3 game set with defending champs Ruby Ridge. The young defensive minded call ups for the Koalas have helped make the aging pitching staff look good early in the season. The Snipers will be a big test though to see what kind of team we really have.

Fun fact from 2004: With Ruby Ridge's WS appearance, the trainguy division becomes the first division in the league to have every team appear in the World Series.

OK, I knew Tomball was in a rebuilding stage but I thought they'd be better than 5-23 to this point. Do we have a minimum win threshold? I thought we'd get to 60 games or something but now I'm not so sure.

Koalas are 21-9 which is much better than expected. We're in the strange world where Robert Taylor and his ERA above 5 is the weakest link on our team but I can't even cut him loose. James Thompson continues to be an excellent pick up in his late 30's. I think the offense is over achieving right now so we will see if we can keep this momentum.

    Re: 2005 Season Discussion

Did a quick check and there are only 4 players remaining from the league's opening rosters. Thought Robert Taylor was the last one but found these guys who all were on teams in 1981.

    18 in 1981

    Robert Taylor (First Game: 1982)
    Charles Seals (First Game: 1984)

    17 in 1981
    Marc Gonzalez (First Game: 1986)
    Richard Oliver (First Game: 1986)
