    2068 Season discussion

Somehow Philly is .500, Ken Miller is the only prospect brought up and he's off to a good start .328 BA

Our SS prospect could step right in now but has plenty of bat development left so why?

And Pitching is deep but outside of the #1 Fisk most are limited and will get callups over the next few seasons.

When its time we'll have to add a few players via trade to try and compete for a title

meanwhile in Chattanooga...there building a Sears in Ballpark Village while lowing prices even more for fan...there 9-29, so theres no need to gouge the fanbase. Owners disappointed. Danel Bear and fans moral is low...and the new crop in BD Draftees look like ****

Nobody wants any of my players, and we're in first place. So...

I guess I need to find a shortstop. Anybody trading?

Something i always forget to look at is the HOF inductees. The last Philly player to get inducted was Javier Trosper a guy i traded at the end of his career when I 1st took over. There are 2 players that were part of my teams that recently were inducted. The ageless one Charles Simpson won 49 of his 304 games with us over 4+ seasons.

Nuk Sorenson was our #37 pick in '46, the hard throwing righty saved 210 games with Philly in his first 5+ seasons before going to Tulsa and playing a different role for 11 more seasons and opted to go into the Hall as a Hurricane.

The kiss of death but I'll say it anyway, The every so steady Charlie Chapman is having a season for the ages. The closer is 2-0 and 23/23 in Save Ops. He has a 0.33 ERA and has walked 3 batters in 27.2.

    Anyone need a closer? LOL

Just realized he's leading the CY race

    sure I need a closer, and a SP 3, 4, and 5 as well as LR, MR1, MR2, SU1, and SU2

On pace for all sorts of crazy offensive stats.... Too bad the pitching staff can't get anyone out either... O'Neil and Sanders are decent but just decent.

539 runs scored good for tops in the league...
    472 runs against, 21st......

    A Cherry on top?

Arlington acquired Henry Cherry from Philly I assume to help their team push for a Championship. After a slow start, Cherry has surpassed his very good play in Philly (.304 / 12 HR/37RBI/.940 OPS) and he's really enjoying the confines of Arl Int Raceway hitting 7 HRs and 22 RBI in just 20 games with a 1.000+ OPS. This after a start that saw only 3 hits in the first 8 games until his breakout 5/6 game against RCK. He's also had a 5 game HR streak in his short time with AP.

But i'm the owner of Philly so as much as I like to see my former players perform well i also like it when there is a replacement for the traded player to talk about. In this case, again it involves AP. Ron Astorga was the player involved in the Tim Solis trade that helped AP make it to the WS in '64. Astorga is an all or nothing player and has always been consider a gap player on the rebuilding teams. In his first 2 seasons with the team he got considerable playing time and was able to manage just around 30 HRs per season hitting for a very low average. He's got average RA in the OF but a terrible glove. After the Cherry trade he filled the DH void and has hit 10 HRs w/ 25 RBI in the 23 games since Cherry has been gone. Sure its a nice story but I cant imagine he'll have anywhere near this type of success in the future.

Early returns made me wonder if you broke Cherry before trading him to me, but yeah he's been on fire the past couple days of sims.

Tulsa mired in 3rd place in the division, 5th place in the league. Guess it’s the payback for the tail end of last dynasty where I had no business being in the playoffs, but the division sucked so bad I kept getting in.
