    Rule change proposal

I wish to modify something and unless there are objections will come into effect next season (2113).

Currently we have a league cap of $65m with a $70m Hard Cap.
I would like to set it at the standard $65m and the only time you may go up to $70m is AFTER the draft.
Otherwise you need to be under the $65m on 4/1 until that time when I will raise the cap.

Let me know what you think.

Agreed. Nice to have $5M for drafted prospects and/or FA signing for playoff run. If nobody retires, then interesting trade/cut decisions before 4/1 of next season.

    2112 Current Status:

2 over $70k ( shouldn’t hard cap prevent this? What is penalty again?)

    11 over $65k (Post-Draft, safe until 4/1/2113)

11 under $65k (safe year around)

I'm against the change. I will not jump ship if it is implemented though. I'm just against any restrictions in salary.

Even prior to the draft teams may be at $70m and the draft can take you over. You then need to be back under the $70m by 4/1 as things stand.
Anything currently regarding $65m is only enforced by the game as that is the official cap. The $70m is enforced then after that by me on 4/1.

This has been brought in as a rule in WBC and I like it as it opens up more trade potential and player activity between draft and deadline.
We could make it a $70m league and then have the increase in cap to $75m but to be honest I do prefer $65m leagues and then feel the extra $5m coming to all clubs will be enough as it would be the same as now.

It does hurt the stronger teams and would balance things a little, and put more emphasis on who makes use of the extra budget the best each season.

Just checking to see where things stand on this. Are we doing the hard cap of $65M prior to the draft?

I've got no qualms either way. Whatever the rule is, I'll follow it.

I have no problem either. I just want to make sure if it is a hard cap of $65M that I am under before 4/1 haha.

There hasn't been any objections really, but I think we will stay as we are for this season.
The proposal remains on the table for next season. It would just be a matter of giving everyone time to adapt to the change as there are a lot using the extra cap space currently. I will use this season to make sure everybody knows what is going to happen.
