    Re: 1982 Hot Stove

I give myself an "F" on managing my team to start the franchise. With the team I inherited, my best move was to try and win now. But I was very conservative on the open FA market, traded draft picks, selected a player in Rule 5 only to lose them due to lack of playing time, and the result was an 85 win team with very little in the minors. So rather than hang around the .500 mark i'm gonna sell off what I can and build the team for the future.

Best bat, 32YO DH type .979 OPS https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778489 not looking for more than a decent prospect

3B good RA & bat, 28YO https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778494, same here decent prospect

    25 YO all around C, https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778492, prospect

29 YO 20 game winner To LA

29 YO bullpen piece 98 SY good prospect or pick

28 YO 19 game winner To Toronto

anything else that might be of interest on the team

Florida can trade All-Star, Silver Slugger C Lee Graves... .307 Avg, .974 OPS considering his 39 HR's on the season. 87 AR is nothing to sneeze at either. Tell me what he might be worth to you.

Florida also is looking to see what the market might offer for 35 HR hitter 3B Arthur McLeod. Would probably trade him for a top half second rounder this season, or equivalent.

The Seattle Grey Stockings have a few players available for trade.

27 yo 2B Benjamin Sanders https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778717 . He has an in game range (69) of 6.31 with a .983 fielding percentage. Slash line of .246/305/.370.

26 yo DH Dyar Reed (RF) https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778656 Crushes righties overall slash line of .318/.414/.491.906 OPS
    Or
28 yo LF Paul Wiegand https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778655 Overall slash line of .298/.371/.492.862 OPS 22HR/113 RBI

I’d trade the above for a fair second round pick and/or a bullpen arm. However don’t hesitate to send an offer of whatever you think is fair to start a discussion.

I also could be convinced to part with either SP Vincent Bolton https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4778666 or William Reed https://www.csfbl.com/player/view.asp?playerid=4779105

It would have to be a swap of starting pitchers (with a second round pick) or a first round pick for one of them.

What someone else? Send a pm and maybe we can work things out.

San Diego is interested in some bullpen help, and upgrades at 2B and SS (if such players exist).
We came close to the playoffs last year, and I wonder if my players now being adjusted to their new positions will make a difference. We were great for 2 months, then awful for 2 months, then decent the last 2 months.

It's like each 2 months were a totally different team. We were among the best for 2 months, then probably about the worst for 2 months, then average the last 2 months. If we'd won one more in September, we'd have won more games in every other month than we did in June and July combined.

Anyway, we're left in a weird place where it feels like we're a couple pieces away from competing, or we need to sell it all and start from scratch.

Trade between Florida & SD has been reversed. There was a misunderstanding about players involved and the teams agreed to reverse.
