30 Inning game on Opening Day

It's already playoff time in this league, but I just noticed my opening day game went 30 innings. I've seen reports of longer games...this one just happened to be Opening Day.

20 scoreless extra innings (10th to the 29th).

Closer Carl Latshaw gave up the tying run in the 9th, and then pitched 6 scoreless innings after that. Doug Norman pitched 9.2 scoreless innings in relief and won POTG.

David Walker went 0 for 7 but walked 6 times. His name was appropriate, at least for this game.

How many spectators watched every one of the 870 pitches that were thrown?
    WS Wins:

    MLB NewSchool: 2006, 11, 13, 14, 15, 34, 39, 42, 57, 62

Despite the high cost of living, it remains quite popular.

No spectators remained; they all had to be at work the next morning!

Way better bullpen management than leaving these guys out there for close to 200 pitches...

Anybody know what the most pitches ever thrown is?
