Albany's pitching staff has a collective ERA of 2.80 through the first ten games!

    But we're 2-8.
    ....
    We're average 2.3 runs/game.

Philadelphia's window of opportunity is closing so we made a last ditch effort to stay in the race by acquiring catcher Ovid Nichols and outfielder Oliver Morgan... so far those guys have done alright but the pitching has really let us down, resulting in a 34-34 record so far.

If we miss the playoffs it will be the first time in 13 years without a postseason appearance. This past decade can probably be summed up as the "Rene Conner era" in Philly, as for a few years he looked like one of the best players in all of CSFBL. His 2001 season (76 homers, 222 RBI, 149 R) is the best individual offensive season I've ever had from a player on one of my teams. But now Conner is just a borderline starter, and despite all the controversy surrounding him when he first entered the league, we only managed to win one World Series with him. We're probably headed for a rebuild soon, the only question is whether we can contend for a playoff spot for another year or two before running out of gas. Washington are the clear frontrunners in our division right now and HAZARD, St. Louis, and Albany are going to all be tough teams to battle with for second place.

The Admirals are finally showing some signs of life. Can we truly say... maybe next year?

Albany sits eight games out of first in the traditionally strong N.L. East but only a game back from the Wild Card spot. The Shamrocks have rebounded from a pretty dreadful start to now being 11 games over .500. It's all thanks to our starting pitching whose combined ERA is 3.23. The starting rotation is anchored by Williams, Charles (14-5, 1.81 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) who is in the top-3 for Cy Young consideration.

The offense really needs to improve, though, as currently only three batters have an average above .280 and the teams OPS is .768. That won't get it done.
