My teams are usually very good at losing with home field advantage.... oh look, they did it again! Mission is also horrible in Game 7s. This is the sixth time in our last seven playoff appearances (over 8 seasons) that we were eliminated in a Game 7. The record :

    1969 : Loss @ Sacramento in Divisional
1970 : Loss vs Sacramento in Divisional
    1971 : Missed Playoffs
1972 : Win vs Hollywood in Conference
1972 : Loss vs Vancouver in World Series
    1973 : No Game 7s
1974 : Loss vs Vancouver in World Series
1975 : Loss @ Salt Lake in Divisional
1976 : Loss vs Los Angeles in Conference

1-4 at Home, 0-2 Away. What might have been for this team with just a little bit more luck. I fear the window is closing now.

Given that we had five 100-win teams in the league this year, the fact that a 90-win team is playing an 89-win team in the World Series says something about about the crapshoot nature of the playoffs, plus the ludicrousness of a division winner, having demonstrated their superiority over 160 games, having to play the second-place team in the first round. How's about we just have go right to the LCS, only division winners qualify?

Nah, no need for all of that. Plus then we'd complain that some 95-win second place team was out while a 87-game division winner was still in and such. It is what it is.

I will say that I've noticed that home field doesn't mean very much at all. In some leagues it almost seems like its a disadvantage. One time I saw that around 3/4 of the league had better road records (I forget which league). We had 8 teams do it this year, 13 teams last year and 15 do it the year before. In MLB, there were 5 (out of 30, not 24 like us).

Congrats. Hopefully 100 wins is enough to make the playoffs next year. smh North Division was insane.
