    Re: 2058 Season discussion

Wheat State is going to throttle down and rest some key contributors heading into the playoffs. Let's hope I can a) avoid an epic collapse, and b) actually remember to reset things come playoff time.

Last minute deals available in Antarctica, including a playoff quality SP, some good hitters, and some excellent BP arms. Come take a look, and tool up for the post season.

Philly has added two arms in hopes of sneaking into the playoffs with a still building squad. Best yet it didnt cost anything more then a couple extra prospects. Charles Simpson is an aging starter with a couple seasons left in him and should bridge a gap for us and David Lee was sitting in AAA and will now help in the pen. Unfortunately the team has gone 11-13 since the additions so the playoffs may be another season away.

Its also been great watching the play of Dan Boatright & Rob Kuhn, the currently are both in the top 5 for MVP with Boat batting .344/35HR/98RBI/.970OPS and Kuhn having a career year at 33, his .302BA is 45pts above his career, 50HRs is a career high and has 107RBI and .996 OPS 100 pts better than any other season of his career.

Arlington puts a beat down on Philly, after the last 4 game set in AP where Philly won 3-4 the ponies sweep the next series at home and dont allow a run outscoring Philly 16-0. Playoff chances pretty much out the window at this point.

Tough break, man. Appreciate the effort trying to trade your way into the playoffs.

In his most recent game, David drew 5 walks, hitting the milestone for the 3rd time in his career. This took place just one week after he had a 4 walk game. Standing at 110 walks through 90 games, David now just needs 69 walks over his final 70 games to match the league record. Still very much a tall order, but given that he’s gotten 150+/year for almost a decade now, it’s certainly within reach.
Young had fallen a touch below record pace, and despite having matched his prior team record of 170 walks with 5 games to play, it seemed that the league record of 179 (dated to 1991!!) was safe. Not so fast!

In the 4th-to-last game of the season, Young delivered a 5 PA 5 BB performance. It was the second time this season he’d pulled off the feat, and the 4th time he’s done it in his career.

Young now at 175 walks (T2 all-time), and he needs 4 walks in his final 3 games to match the 67 year old record.

Hill valley sneaks into the playoffs thanks to a tie-breaker. Because it went down to the last game I fully expect that I will get swept in the first round. My two best pitchers have massive sea fat and won’t be available to start until game 3-4
