Allow FA bids below player's asking price

Since FA's now gradually lower their asking price the longer they sit on the FA list, how about if we can bid below their minimum and just have them not sign until their demands drop to that level?

Say there's an 8 million dollar pitcher on the FA list, but he's over-priced and you're willing to pay him 5. You should be able to bid 5 mil and just have him sit there until his demands drop to meet yours, or someone else pays what he's asking.

I think FA's would rather be payed less than their ideal amount to play, then not being paid or playing at all.

I was worried that this could be used in less active leagues to get veterans for 50k but I like the idea of once their demands drop that low, they sign with you.

Yea, I'm sure you would be waiting a long time for a high priced pitcher to drop to 50k. Even a mid level, fringe pitcher/player would not drop to even 300k for longer than anyone would really find a useful addition.
