Well, in the past I have had weird success in the playoffs when I put my worst pitcher as the extra in the rotation to be avoided at all costs (I rotate the staff around rather than go down to 4-man rotation, because I don't want to forget and screw things up next season) that accidentally got the playoff start and pull off a win. So strange things happen.

Heck, in real life, Phil Humber pitched one. And he had some high ERAs.

This happened to me yesterday. Thought I'd set my rotation, but didn't. Scrub I'd been hiding in SP4 got the start, and threw 4 scoreless. MR1 (regular season starter) took over and threw 4 more scoreless. Que the closer and we get the win.
