Questions about free agency. 6l says winning teams may sign their players before 3/31. Are they required to do so? If the winning team does not sign the player, do they go to the runner-up team?

If you sign a player after 4/1, what kind of contract are you allowed to give them?

Yeah I should clarify that: after 4/1, signing free agents works as it does in other CSFBL leagues. Unguaranteed deals. It would just be too much to try

The winning team is required to sign the player because the idea is that once you make an offer, you are giving the free agent the pen to sign, and so there is no going back.

How do the FA rules effect the existing players we will draft? If I draft a 29yo, is he mine indefinitely? If I draft a 27yo, is he subject to FA after 1 year? Maybe a 2 or 3 year delay in implementing FA?
IFA is still once every two years.

As for your other question, very good question. I am thinking about it.

Got it, makes sense, thanks. And if you happen to sign too many guys so that you are over the cap, you have until 4/2 to shed salary to get back under?

Is this total payroll, front office payroll, or active roster payroll? And if it's total payroll, then does that mean that we have to make space before the draft sims so that drafted players don't push the team over the limit?

In the past,it's been total payroll not including draftees. Unsure if a change is planned or not.

Either that or trade for cap space from a team with more of it.

If there's not some sort of moratorium/allowance, I know that my draft strategy will be all teenagers. Maybe >=30yo, no contract; 25-29yo=3 years; <=24yo, normal rules apply.
