So much for the Panthers. It's amazing how difficult it can be to hit a ten feet pass or even just get your stick on a moving puck when your confidence is slipping. And that it happens so easily for an entire team. It's frustrating that they refuse to figure out how to build that momentum by doing little things well on defense, especially when they are paying top dollar for a legendary coach. Of course the Islanders are the best at breaking down their opponents by boring them to death, but that's not much of an excuse.

Great day for the lower seeded teams, with the Coyotes, Canadiens, and Blackhawks closing out their series in game 4. CBJ also had a golden opportunity to boot the other home team out of the postseason, but blew a 3-0 lead with 4 minutes left in regulation and suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss. It's hard to see them winning a deciding game 5 after such a collapse.

Even more heartbreaking for the Predators to lose in OT after they managed to tie the game late. But yeah, Columbus had many chances to put the game away after Toronto pulled their goalie so they will be kicking themselves. I find it as likely that Toronto gets back to being overconfident as it is that Columbus breaks down.

I really enjoy watching the Blackhawks in the playoffs. Even as the underdog they look so comfortable in a way few other accomplished teams do, perhaps with the exception of Boston.

It would be spectacular to watch them fail with yet another #1 pick on the roster. Or how about the Penguins, so the tank babies Crosby and Malkin can mentor Lafrenière. Columbus would be most deserving after losing all those free agents, but hopefully they win game 5. Florida probably need it the most, and it would be a nice start for their new GM.

It would be classic Flyers if they lost to the Canadiens and so fitting for 2020 if Montreal somehow wins the Stanley Cup this season!

Indeed. Global pandemic shutting down the world, Beirut blowing up, Trump being reelected, and the Canadiens winning the Stanley Cup. The worst!

Scanning the schedule quickly, it looks like Montreal had the upper hand on the Flyers in the regular season.

Losing Hedman to another injury is probably worse than losing this game for Tampa, even if it would also be fitting if Tortorella knocked them out.

I'm very impressed by Columbus. They were completely outplayed by Toronto's first line, but never panicked and kept skating hard so they could check hard without drawing penalties. They still needed some luck, but they didn't give anything away for free.
