    Re: Official DriveTheLane Thread

L31 - A big win over College Station 95-70 in our 8/9 matchup. Up next is a very tough #1 seed in Duluth. They seem to everything well and are lock down defenders. We're hoping we can get out and run on them to try and open the game up. We will see what breaks first, their defense or our offense.

L34 - Heartbreaking loss. We took a 2 point lead with 11 seconds left and then Joshua Shearer buried a 3 pointer (he was 0 for 2 before that shot) with 3 seconds left to beat us 78-77. Too many turnovers as we fall to 5-5 (3-3) for the season.

L37 - A solid victory over Long Beach 86-80. Game was close all the way until a 7-0 run in 90 seconds opened up the game enough for us to hold the victory. We were 12-12 from the FT line but then in the last minute we started to miss them, going 5-8 when Long Beach was intentionally fouling but they couldn't hit the shots to get back into the game. Next game is against a Wichita team that has a very eccentric coach that is a pretty fun read on the forums. They're ranked #222 so we expect to handle them easily.

Today, the DTL sim was very kind.

L31 - Got a RTT R2 victory over #180, 69-57. We won every phase but assists, probably because our starting PG only played 18mins due to foul trouble.

L34 - I was sure Luke would end our run, but no! We crush #22 (now 32) 98-76 to win our 9th straight. This breaks our tie with Luke for the #1 CT seed, and bumps our ranking up to #24. We're deep into NTT at-large territory now. Kennedy ruled this game (32/7/0/2) with strong contributions by 3 of the other 4 starters (Brown limited by fouls). Gregory: 11/4/9/2, Robinson: 16/3/2/1/1 (in 19 minutes), Chronister: 14/9/0/0/1. We won every category to dominate a game I thought we might lose. I'm feeling good about this team. Not bad for a team that started out 0-2!

L37 - Big test against #16 to prove we belong in the top 25, and we passed, 91-87. Whole team effort. They actually out shot us, and won FT's, blocks and TO's, but we edged in rebounds, 3P's, and TO's, while tying in Assists and steals. Poisson had another new career low in assists with 7, but added 6 reb, a steal and a block. Hansberry: 18/5/6/2, Ivy: 18/7/5/2/2, Kendall: 27/11. Kulpa had foul trouble but Brown was good off the bench with 14/6/0/0/1. We've worked our way up to #27.

Glad to be of service, lol. Feel free to shoot me a scrimmage to test that against the same lineup.

Just realized that my drop in ranking from the end of last season to beginning of this one in L37 is mostly to do with SOS. Last year our SOS was #3, this year it's #123.

    Re: Official DriveTheLane Thread

L34 - devastating 66-64 loss to #55. Outshot them 47% to 39% and had more 3s at a high conversion rate as well. They did outrebounded us a bit (my E rebound E athleticism SF didn’t get a single OR), but not enough to significantly alter the game. What really killed us was TWENTY THREE TURNOVERS! What?! I basically start two different E handle PGs, and they combined for 6 TO. C Morataya is a G handle C and had 5 (hadn’t had more than 2 in a game all year). It was just wild. Craziest thing is that sometimes my guys just kind of stand around and pass the ball without shooting, as I tend to lower shoot percentages until everyone is shooting 50%. So shot percent goes up, but more passes increases TO rate, it’s a trade off. This time a TON of the turnovers were early in the shotclock. Like, defensive rebound-travel. Catch inbounds pass, step out of bounds, fail to get off an in-bounds pass (with my former PG E handle SF, sure).

Anyways, just a wild game where we doubled our average TO rate and lost by 2. Gives us less margin heading into our back to back Top 10 matchups.

L37 - looked good! Beat now-#73 84-68. SG Jones put last game’s 3-19 debacle behind him convincingly and went 16-25 for 36 points. He was the #1 Star of the Game for his effort. Meanwhile C Drolet continues to play WELL beyond his +2 attributes. 7-9 shooting, 5 OR, and 6 blocks in this one. He’s no Morataya as he can’t buy and assist and has clear TO issues (9 in 2 games). But still, has a combined 40 GameScore points in 2 games and counting exhibition has never been below 17. Not sure if the wheels will fall off or not, but I’m excited by what he’s doing.
