Great game with the defense showing just as strong as last year, holding them to 40% shooting. Mack had 5 blocks by halftime and finished with 7 as he tries to surpass his own record. Had a whopping 15 blocks as a team, 2nd most in the country.

Offensively, exciting new PG Isaac Davis scores a game-high 28 points on 11-19 shooting and simply took over the game for a stretch or two. Our other FR starter, SF Keagan, added 20 points on a less efficient 7-17 shooting, but did go 5-5 from the charity stripe to help himself out. He also added 8 assists, 9 rebounds, a steal, and 2 blocks. These two should compete for C24 FoY honors, and possibly All League FR honors as well.

Exciting win against a good team. Face oracle’s #24 team next. A win there would give us a tremendous start to securing a strong NTT seed.

    L37 - advance 78-70 after a decent challenge by a 15 seed. Improve to #55. Really hoping/expecting a deep run.
We were 27th before the game.

If anyone's looking for a challenge, Mobile in L31 is open. Same conference as me and the team has two 256/256 ranked classes so it's a long haul rebuild but the overall conference is middle of the pack so you can make waves during the rebuild.

L37 - Open the NTT with a 108-67 shelling of Memphis in the 4/13 matchup. We crushed them on the boards 51-24 and shot 48/79 from the field (60.8%). We get a Eugene team in Round 2 that has the #1 SoS so they've been in a lot of battles this year. They're ranked 253rd in FT Percentage (all of the teams below them are in the DTT). They've got an excellent SR SF to lead them and their coach makes a lot of adjustments so it will definitely be a rough game. Hopefully our talent wins out.

That makes 2 straight games that LA has coughed up a 5 point lead in the closing seconds and lost in OT. Serenity now.

Chattanooga lost all 3 EXH games and game 1. We may not win a game this year.

    I am stunned...

Oracle snagged the #1/1 recruiting class this year, and they just stormed my elite defense.

SF Barnes is 16-32 from deep in 5 games (EXH plus OOC). Kid is an elite shooter.

PF Wyatt Duron is another freshman starter, although less clear how good he is. Between EXH1-OOC1 he never scored more than 10 points or more than 50% TS%. Put him against me E defenders from SG-SF-PF and the best shot blocker ever at C, and he goes 6-11 plus 5-5 from FT (had exactly 1 FTA prior 4 games).

Anyways, Oracle, would be very curious to see how good these guys are. Barnes clearly insane, but really wondering how much you expect to get out of Duron.

As to our actual game, Oracle’s team shot 10-16 from deep. 39-64 overall. My team usually holds teams to 40% FG% on a standard game, 50% if things go bad. Allowing 60% is brutal, even aside from all the 3s.

Our offense did a great job keeping us in the game. Shot 36-69 (52%), which with our defense means a clean win against almost anybody in the league.

Oracle shoots up to #9 in the league with the win. They look GOOD. Props to Oracle for putting together such a great team. We’re still solid at #12.

Scrim accepted using same lineup/defense. I was stunned also by 1/1 recruiting class since I don't use Gadfly's stats.

Of course I hold you to 40% shooting in the one that doesn’t count, haha.

Still, Barnes-Duron played really well in that one, too. They’re a heck of a duo.

If there's anyone not yet in L34, there's an opening in C19 with me, dirtball, and bvalencia in the same division, and Luke in the other division.

    Re: Official DriveTheLane Thread

    L34 - beat Dirtball's #110 squad by 33 in a great game.

FR PG Isaac Davis scores 43 points, has 8 assists to 0 TO and adds 2 steals for #2 "Star of the Game". Kid is #3 nationally with 33.7ppg and is simply killing it.

Elsewhere C Mack has 6.67 blocks/game through 3 games. Looks like his own record is in jeopardy.

Face chief in-division rival Amarillo (#14) for the first of 2 times on Monday. They are shooting 8-18 (44%) from deep this year, which is #14 for made shots and #38 for 3Pt%, so it'll be a big challenge. Having learned a good lesson from my loss to oracle, I'll be swapping my zone defense out to man to try to shut down the sharpshooters (worked well in the meaningless scrimmage vs oracle after my loss anyways).

L37 - fail to reach Elite 8 in PTT. Shot okay, but defense was subpar, and we got dominated on boards and TOs. Still, encouraged by our strong close to the season.

We won our Sweet Sixteen matchup in L37 and will face JD's #2 ranked team in the elite eight. Pretty impressive for barely getting in.

Rematch of OOC3 which Santa Ana won 73-71. I predict another game just like that. Hopefully with different results this time.
