Re: Wins - All Time Top 100

Jack Downey begins his age 43 season at 490 wins. His career low is the 14 from last year; before that it was 17. I think I can get him 10.

Only John George (494) stands in between Downey and the wins lead for southpaws. The top 8 are all righties.

Re: Wins - All Time Top 100

    By George, he's done it!

Seriously, Jack Downey, with win #495, passes John George to become CSFBL's all-time leader in wins by a left-handed pitcher.

It's 5/13, so to get to 500, Downey has 4.5 months to win 5 games. He already has 5 this year, so that should be a piece of cake.

There are 22 southpaws in the top 100. Downey is the only active one:

Jack Downey becomes the 6th pitcher - and FIRST lefty - in CSFBL history to get to 500 wins.

Huge congrats to Jack Downey. As doaf mentioned, he's not only the 6th player in history to reach 500 wins, but he's the first lefty to do it.

Here's a new All Time Top 100. 78 pitchers have 400+ wins, with Michael Smith and Michael Funkhouser (another doaf pitcher) both 3 wins away from joining the exclusive club.

Re: Wins - All Time Top 100

The real question is how much would Rudick cost in todays CBA
I just can't look its killing me
    And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
    Swimming through sick lullabies
    Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
    Destiny is calling me
    Open up my eager eyes
    Cause I'm Mr Brightside

In his prime? $10-$12 million. It looks like he never made more than $6,484,000 which makes him one of the greatest bargains in CSFBL history.

And I thought Downey was a bargain topping out at $6,653,000.

Downey was 6th to 500 and 66th to 400, and remains my only pitcher at either milestone...until around May of the next NL season.

Jack Downey retires in 5th place in CSFBL history with 502 wins. It's been a hell of a ride.

As a reward, I've named the stadium after him. Not much else I can do in a fake baseball simulation.

The active leader is now 45 y/o Raymond McGuire, at 480 wins. But Sydney Morris, 41 y/o and at 460, is probably a better bet to be #7 to 500. If not him, we might be waiting a while.

I think I've identified the next guy with a realistic shot. He should make the top 100 by the time he's 35.
