The Miami Stingrays fans and front office have high hopes for the upcoming season. The club has a lot of young, talented players, with an embarassment of riches at two positions -- catcher and right field. That's why General Manager Jake Mann has been sending out feelers about a possible trade for a middle infielder, making it known that veteran backstop Paul Lamoureax or Ryan Young, a top prospect in the outfield, may be available for trade. "We're certain our second-round draft pick, John Brooks, will be a mainstay at shortstop for years to come," Mann told reporters. "But we've determined that an area of need for us is a promising young backup for Brooks, someone who can also play second base. Range and glovework will be of paramount importance to us; offensively we'll want a ballplayer who at miminum has a very good OBP."
