Andrew Stamps closing in on 4000 hits

Andrew Stamps looks poised to make history soon, needing only 11 more hits to become the first player in ASC history to reach the 4000 hit milestone. A twenty two year veteran, Stamps is a shadow of the player he once was and it is widely speculated that this will be his last season.

    Speaking of washed up superstars…

With his solo home run in a loss to the 66Nongs, Michael Bussiere collected his 2000th RBI. Possibly the best player to ever wear a Zombie Inferno uniform, Bussiere reached his pinnacle in 1992. Easily capturing the MVP award that season, Bussiere hit .405 while putting up a .512 OBP and .681 SLG. If he can keep hitting and match last season’s hit total there is a good chance Bussiere will be celebrating his 4000th hit near the end of this season.

There is a good chance Bussiere will hang up his cleats as well at the end of the year. My only regret for both these players is that in 22 years I could never get them a championship. Living up to the San Diego tradition I suppose.

Grats to Stamps. 4000 is impressive.
