The box score in this 6-4 game isn't the interesting part; it's that 1B William Gonzalez finally got a hit in his 30th at-bat. He's 1 for 33 with no walks or HBP.

Opening Day 1950 and the Ruby Legs are one-hit by the Browns. But we win 1-0.

The Saints walk 16 times in this game against the Whales. Every Saint walked at least once.

Ronald Zielinski is limping his way to 200 wins. He sits 4 wins shy of 200, but is struggling with a 6-10 records and a 5.61 ERA on a team fighting to make the playoffs (2 games back of the Pelicans for the wildcard).

Quite honestly, I don't know how you're doing it. But I'm rooting for you just because I'm sick of getting beat by Elmer Thao and the Pelicans. Seems we can never beat him.

Kenneth Smallwood's 17-1 records and Clifford Alaniz's 40 HRs and 86 RBIs in 96 games are really carrying the team. Good pitching and apparently timely hitting. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if I fall off the race as it is only mid-July. I am still hesitant to trade my best minor league prospects for that very reason.
