When permanently moving from a harder position to an easier position, the text says that the player's potential ratings increase, but it really doesn't say how much.

Example:

A SS playing 1B can do so without penalty (five steps to the right is -0% penalty). I believe that this also means that a SS converting to 1B will play 1B with the same range and glove as he would have at SS prior to conversion. (Please ignore the converted 1B playing any other position for this discussion.)

So... my questions is... how much of an increase does the SS-turned-1B get to his

The sims will be un-paused on Thursday April 20th at roughly 12:30pm eastern. At that point, the preseason will officially begin with the calendar turning to 3/1/1981 at 3pm eastern. We will be running at 8 sims per day so the preseason will start moving pretty quickly. There are still some very nice looking players that went un-drafted. Here's the list of

The preseason takes 4 real-life days so the regular season will begin on Monday April 24. You should check in with your mentor to go over your team settings and such. Before April 1st, you should 1) make sure your allocations are set (EVERY team should have full allocations in year one) 2) Set your stadium dimensions and stadium name 3) Set any Low Minors position changes that you want to make. Also, if you have any players on your team that need to move to low minors, you can ask me or your mentor to move them for you. But that's not critical before 4/1.

For more, check out the handy

I think those are the major points, but please speak up with any questions on the preseason process or anything else.

Good luck in year 1!

--Keep in mind the division realignment is a ONE TIME thing. In other words, this your team is now in their permanent division.

--Also keep in mind that your mentor will be in your dugout for the first 5 seasons. Reach out to him. Start talking to him about longterm and short term strategy. Teams strength and weaknesses. Scouting the free agent draft.

--Remember that the mentors are volunteers. So 2 things...1) be proactive with them. They won't always have time to reach out to you to see if you need anything. If you need something or have a question, reach out to your mentor! 2) be respectful of their time and appreciative of their assistance.

The lottery will be conducted on

Each owner is assigned a seed, and each seed has an equal chance of winning the lottery (give or take a very very small minor rounding issue). After the first lottery result is determined, the winner is assigned the #1 slot in the lottery and the 23 remaining teams enter the 2nd lottery. Again, all 23 remaining teams have an equal chance of winning the second lottery. The seeding is similar to the previous lottery. With the only difference being that the teams seeded lower than the previous winner all move up one seed.

These players have traveled from far and wide to make it here to

Gather your scouts into your war room and start combing over the list....

Once we have 24 confirmed owners, we'll conduct a random lottery to determine draft order, and then we'll begin with a 2 round draft taking place on the forums, with blocks of 4 teams per day on the clock. The draft order will be serpentine/snake style so the team picking #1 will also pick #48. The team picking #24 will also pick #25. And this is such a strong list of players, one could argue 24/25 is a better place to be than 1/48. But we'll let randomness determine who goes where.

48 of these players will be drafted over the 2 round draft and players will move over to their new teams daily. The remaining 12 undrafted players will be in the free agent pool to be fought over once the preseason officially begins. The preseason will officially begin once the free agent draft is over.

And don't forget...the mentors are here to help you! Once the league is full, the mentors will split the owners up into 4 divisions. Your team may move to a new division...don't worry if it happens. Once your team is in it's official division, you'll know who your mentor is. In the mean time, please reach out to me or any of the mentors for advice or to ask questions.

Happy scouting!
